12. The Same Old Road

This is a post for those of you who never read the silly writings in my posts but only look at the even simpler photos. This is a post that I devote to all the lonely souls who were ones happy with their solitude. Once, long ago, when they had the freedom to take a breath and live in peace close to someone they loved. This is a post that doesn't say anything more than what it has already said. That this is a post about you. And I keep writing because I can say so much more that you have already heard. So much more you don’t want to hear, the same so much more I will continue to say. You are going down the same old road.

This is not a post to which I had dedicated too much time or enough investigation. But this is a post I have given enough emotion and a fair amount of alcohol. I simply wanted to remind you that alone does not always mean lonely. And that obviously in your case, it does. Obviously, you need to play “Unchain my heart” not by whoever but by Hugh Laurie /who is coming toSofia this July fyi/. Misery is what usually brings you here or there or on the same path you always end up taking. A road can be windy but it can be shiny, too. And it only depends on how many times you have already been on it, and how many times you've been going down. Or how judgmental you can get when you know you are not walking down this road alone… Same place after all. But it’s all about the direction you are facing and how many 360degree spins you can make till you get to the right one...

And that’s all I wanted to tell you. To remember what this post is about. To think of how many chains you need to let go of, or what is the circumference length you need to fully walk your circle. Figure it out. Solitude is not always loneliness, unless you keep going down the same old road.

In the photo, the road is going up. To the highest peak on the Balkans. Up.

11. Motivation

At the end of the old week and right before the new one, I already feel tired. Is it procrastination or simply spring laziness? I don't really want to know. What I need to understand, though, is how to get past it and motivate myself for yet another busy week. Exactly. Motivation. The topic of this post.

I thought of moments when I was really motivated to do something that I wasn't required to. You know, homework and assignments do not fall in my category of "Things I can't wait to do". So here is one instance of a minute, I felt really motivated to accomplish the task I had undertaken. Precisely, climbing the Coca-Cola Case Tower. This is a team-building exercise we do every summer with the Resident Assistants at AUBG. This post's photo is exactly from this task (not me climbing, though). The number of cases should be around 17, as far as I remember. Almost a record. :) The lovely person on the top - Artemie - who has a birthday in a couple of days! :) What a lovely coincidence!

Predela, August 2013

Motivation was the topic of my Consumer Behavior class last week, too. Or to be more precise, that was the question on my quiz, haha. What I will definitely remember from that chapter is the issues a person faces when they experience motivational conflicts. Have you ever experience both desire and resistance towards a product? Well, that's the approach-avoidance conflict. I found that quite a terrible feeling... It happens to me all the time, I guess I hesitate too much. Should I go to my Monday classes, or should I not? Not good. And I hope this doesn't happen to you, so here is a gallery of positive quotes I found to motivate you for a great Monday. Last but not least, the educational part: a nice animation about Motivation. Enjoy!

And please, tell me how you survive a Monday!

10. Traffic Lights

Don't laugh. Please, don't. This is probably the wildest imagination on the topic Traffic Lights that you will ever see. Meaning, there is nothing related to traffic lights in here... Or at least not in the photo. But I captured this image when I was on a trip in Bansko and it was so sudden and unexpected that I could not ignore the moment. These are three soaps. Seriously, soap. Strawberry and cream, Honey and milk, and Kiwi. "Homemade," the label said. I traffic light was probably never homemade but who cares?! I created my own :)

Traffic Lights. Or Soap.

Now, on the topic of traffic lights... Hm. First thing that comes to my mind is quite symbolic as well. I guess we won't get to the mechanics of the real traffic light just yet. But what pops in my mind is... The Stop Light Parties. I sincerely dislike these [probably because I always had to be in red and make use of the idea fully :D ]... For those of you who don't know what those thoughtful events are, here is a quick explanation: You simply have to wear the color that represents your relationship status. Red: Taken. Yellow: It's complicated /. Green: Go for it. Taken, I mean... Gosh...

I hope the person that gave me the topic did not have those parties in mind, when he wanted to see a "Traffic Light" photo... Let's hope they saw one of these somewhere:

Is this AMAZING?! I love it! This is a very interactive and smart design done by the designer Thanva Tivawong several years ago. It's beautiful, and I would definitely enjoy it if I get stuck in a traffic jam near one of these LED stop lights. If I ever get a car, that is! :) But in case you need something even more amusing, please take a look at these Creative Traffic Lights.  The smiley is my favorite but it doesn't carry the right message at all.. At least it's yellow.

Last thing, I promise. In case you are in a very childish mood when reading this, you might like singing Twinkle Twinkle along the lines of this song... but this is probably way way way too far from the original idea incorporated in that topic... Yeah, not that Soap was any closer... :D At least I had fun. Whatever the color or form is, it should be fun. Right? :)

9. Erotic

Hello everyone!
It's been a while since my last post in this picturesque blog but we have to prioritize, and Spring Break definitely comes at least 1 step ahead of class project responsibilities. I am sure you know what I mean. :)
And since it's just the beginning of our next half of the semester, I have prepared a very interesting and somewhat extravagant topic for today's photo... and this is precisely the Erotic /Burning Desire/ topic. :) To be honest, I was quite pleasantly surprised when I received this word as a challenge because it was one of my married girlfriends who suggested it to me. Make your conclusions... But to me, this topic gave reasons to believe that there is life after marriage too... :) Here is my photo, but don't be too judgmental! Explanations to follow below :)

Alumni Challenge 2013 - Obstacle Game
So... hah. Are words necessary for this at all? I wonder what you are thinking when you look at this (without reading the caption). Please, let me know in the comments below!
Well, I hope you see the funny aspect in this. The photo was taken during the annual Alumni Challenge at AUBG which takes places every April. A group of fellow alumni from the AUBG Alumni Association challenge a team of current students in a number of fun games. At the end of the event, the overall winner from the games is determined. At the very beginning of the event, a deal is made between the captains of the two teams that the losing captain will do something embarrassing - in the field of running around campus in their underwear. Surprisingly, some people volunteer to accompany the losing captain in their "humiliation". :D
The photo is from the Obstacle game which is a timed race involving a lot of drinking and running around. Amazing! This particular photo shows the moment when a girl has to take a shot glass without using her hands. No worries, it's not that erotic after all, right? Since the organization of this years' Alumni Challenge 2014, just started, I thought this might be an appropriate photo reminding the tons of fun during the event. Please, attend it and let's win this together! :)
For everyone else who found deeper meaning in the blow up doll... Hm, I think you ended up in the wrong blog. But here are a couple of things you might have fun doing with a blow up doll (besides THAT) /via http://www.bachelorpartytips.com/:

  • Hold your beer in one of the many "love orifices"
  • Ride on your motorcycle with the doll on the back.
  • Lay it on the train tracks, Wait for excitement to happen..
  • Send to a friend, see if they mention it or if they suddenly start spending evenings with a mysterious new "friend".
  • Fill with Helium, carry around attached to a string.
  • Bring Helium filled doll to post office. Tell clerk you want to ship it to Japan and that they owe you money.
Thank you for enjoying this with me! I hope you laughed a little. And sorry if you expected some glamorous nude photos. Probably next time! :)

8. One Whole

This is probably a weird approach to take on this topic but after all it is my decision. :)
For today's topic, I chose a photo of garden decoration I encountered during one of my busy days at work. These cute little owls, however, make me think of something much more than gardening.. They remind me of the team of AUBG Daily - people gathered together with a common purpose and passion to create something. To form One Whole.

Nantucket, MA,USA
Some people still wonder what's the issue with the OWL and AUBG Daily. Our tagline is 'Owl the News' and we DO know that 'owl' and 'all' do not have the same pronunciation. Some people don't, though. And that's an advantage for us. :-D For you, smarta*s fellas, here's an explanation.

I hope you notice the big eyes in these owls because I can honestly say that they are all that matters. Big open eyes full of curiosity - of impatience to know what will happen next, to see where our world is going. Big open eyes who stay aware and guard their beloved ones, they guard the forest. They see and know everything. And yes,it sound's like More Honors' next Gossip nomination but... yeaaah, sure, we'll take it.

This is a family that has several Mama & Papa Owls. And one original Papa Owl, and a bunch of somewhat grown-up baby owls. And we are all together, fighting and investigating whatever may stand on our AUBG way...

If you have any concerns, comments, problems. Do not hesitate to find a Daily owl around you. We will keep our eye open for you and your stories!

Working together, as one whole. The AUBG Daily

7. City at Night

It's time for Spring break and almost everyone has left Skapto... Well, I am still here, and I think I'll stay :) I like the quiet and calm evenings here when nobody is around - only the voices of the night and the songs of the wind.. My photo for this week is dedicated to this - our own little City at night, Skapto.

It's pretty. It's something I will truly miss when I graduate - the nights. Whether they were drowned in laughter and dizziness or covered up in books and papers. Skapto Nights. The best ones. It's the darkness that made them amazing.. and if you still find some fear within you, this is how the darkness helps us evolve - an article in one of the best online journals. :) Or if you are reading this from somewhere far far away from Skapto and Blagoevgrad, maybe you can find yourself dreaming about the Maldives at night... Wherever, I hope you find your Spring break calmness in the dark. :)
